ABOUT ME

Meticulous and Conscientious

I first provided proofreading services to two national newspapers in Botswana when I set up a company there in 1995. Since then, I have proofread and copy edited business documents such as corporate reports, presentations, websites and flyers as well as academic documents including personal statements and essays. In addition, I have done proofreading training with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and have honed my proofreading and copy editing skills through working with clients such as Save the Children International and self-published authors.

As an English teacher for 22 years, I taught many people how to communicate effectively in written English for business and academic purposes including at postgraduate level at university in the UK. With a BA (Hons) Degree in Russian, I am fully aware of the challenges of writing in another language.

I have assessed writing as an examiner for various English language examinations including GCSE English Language and International English Testing System (IELTS) for 12 years for which I was also an Examiner Trainer. I have a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA) and have also been an English teacher trainer.

All these skills and experience mean that I am able to proofread and copy edit to a high standard.

THE PROCESS

Please contact me with details of the proofreading you would like done including the word count and time frame. I will then give you a quotation. I will proofread the document you email me using Track Changes in Microsoft Word and return it to you, so that you can see any comments and amendments. I will also send you the amended version without the amendments or comments being visible. I can also proofread PDFs in Adobe Acrobat.
